PointCentral® an Alarm.com Company – Smart Home Solutions | Yale Real Living™ Push Button Deadbolt Locks & Alarm.com Security Panel

In January 2021, a PointCentral® an Alarm.com Company – Smart Home Solutions system consisting of a Yale Real Living™ Push Button Deadbolt (Smart) Lock and an Alarm.com security panel was installed in every apartment unit at King & Queen Apartments. This is an upgrade from the previous smart lock system and is designed to make life even easier for our residents. Physical keys are not needed to lock or unlock apartment doors. Residents also have the option and opportunity to add and integrate home security to their apartment unit through Alarm.com and Johns Brothers Security.

Deadbolt (Smart) Locks

The Yale Real Living™ Push Button Deadbolt (Smart) Locks that are on the front door of every apartment unit are connected to PointCentral®, which is hosted by Alarm.com’s secure cloud.  Prior to move-in, residents will receive a welcome email from PointCentral® with an auto-generated, 6-digit user code and instructions on how to operate, unlock, and lock the Yale Real Living™ Push Button Deadbolt (Smart) Locks. If you are moving into your apartment unit and have not received your welcome email with your 6-digit user code, please check your email’s SPAM folder and be sure to make PointCentral® a trusted sender. This 6-digit user code is your ‘key’ to the apartment unit, assigned to you, and giving your user code to someone else is the same as giving them a copy of your key. Please save this email or take a screenshot of it and store in a safe place. For your safety, and the safety of your apartment unit and your property, DO NOT SHARE YOUR 6-DIGIT USER CODE WITH SOMEONE ELSE!

Unlocking from the Outside:

  • Press your 6-digit user code, then press the (check mark) button.
  • When the correct 6-digit user code is pressed on the lock, the deadbolt will retract and a quick chime will play.

TROUBLESHOOTING NOTE: If the pushbuttons start blinking with a set of error chimes, the 6-digit user code that was entered was not valid.

TROUBLESHOOTING NOTE: If an invalid 6-digit user code is entered five (5) times, the unit will shut down for 60 seconds and not allow operation.

NOTE: **The lock WILL NOT automatically lock when you close the door. **

Alarm.com Security Panel

Each apartment unit is equipped with an Alarm.com security panel. This panel has a dual function: it is a hub for the Yale Real Living™ Push Button Deadbolt (Smart) Lock and can be used as an Alarm.com monitored security panel for the apartment unit. The security systems at King & Queen Apartments are monitored locally by Johns Brothers Security, if a monitored security plan is purchased by the resident.

PLEASE NOTE: Each panel is manufactured with a built in camera that is used for recording activity during a break-in. The camera feature will only be turned on with an activated security monitoring plan. Otherwise, the camera has been turned off. And, for further security and peace-of-mind, a small piece of electrical tape has been placed over the camera hole for those apartment units that do not have an active security monitoring plan through PointCentral® an Alarm.com Company.
